




Lynette Smith has been in the credit union industry for over 32 years. In the past twelve years Lynette has been the President/CEO of TruEnergy FCU. The credit union offers competitive financial products and services to multiple employee groups, which includes the Washington Gas Company and their contractors and energy related companies.
Lynette worked at Treasury Department Federal Credit Union (TDFCU) where she served for 19 years, 16 as the CFO. She has received numerous awards including NAFCU’s Paul Revere Award, NAFCU’s CEO of the Year for credit unions under $150 Million in assets, and she was inducted into the Virginia Credit Union League’s Hall of Fame.
Lynette has served on the Board of the AACUC for over 12 years as Board Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary and has chaired many committees. For the past 6 years, Lynette has served on the Board of the Metropolitan Credit Union Association.
Lynette has a BS degree in Accounting, graduating Cum Laude, from Morgan State University. At Morgan she was the first President of Delta Mu Delta Business Honor Society in 1978. Prior to joining the credit union industry Lynette worked in Health Care Financial Administration and was an auditor with Ernst and Young in her earlier career.
